April Ministry Update

APRIL IS HERE!!!

I can't believe it is finally April! This school year has just been flying by and I can't believe we are almost done with the apprenticeship. March was an intense month but such a good one and so I wanted to give you some updates. Because I was recovering from surgery most of this month, I don't have many pictures! :-)

Surgery Update:

Well, during spring break, I had surgery to remove my tonsils because they were causing me a lot of trouble. It was my first surgery ever and even though I was a little nervous leading up to it, it went so smoothly. The recovery, however, was not nearly as smoothly. It took me almost 3 weeks to recover. I was told to prepare myself for so much pain and discomfort and I was in no way prepared enough. I would cry because I was hungry, I would cry because I was in pain, and towards the end of my recovery I cried because I just missed being able to see people. About 5-7 days into recovery my pain medicines stopped working and I soon had to go to the emergency room. They had to give me loads of IV fluids because my body had been so depleted of nutrients from not being able to eat anything and they were also able to give me some more pain medicines. From then on, my recovery got exponentially better. After the second week, my pain was finally subsiding but my body was so weak from not eating that I couldn't stand. So then, I had to train my body to return to normal and this part I'm still working on.

So, all in all, it has definitely been a process of trusting God; being thankful for those who took care of me and brought me things to eat; it has been a process that has forced me to rest more because I don't naturally do that on my own. I am so thankful that I got to have them out and I am so thankful for all of your prayers.

Spring Showcase:

Spring showcase is finally here! It will be this Saturday, April 6th. Come out and help send our students to the student institute of campus ministry this summer. They get to learn the ins and outs of campus ministry as well as how to lead a small group. Most importantly they get to deepen their relationship with God. I hope to see you there. If you are interested in buying a ticket or would just like to donate to this event, go to anyfocus.org/showcase

Student Testimony:

As this apprenticeship gets closer and closer to ending, I just want to thank you all with all of my heart, for all of your love, support, and prayers! We could not do what we do with you. :-)

Comments

  1. Hey Brittany! I am sorry you've suffered so much from your tonsillectomy, but I'm so encouraged to hear how you're doing better and how so many people were there to help you when you needed it. That is a true testimony to God's love as it is acted out by his people. Love you Brittany!
